About Me

I've always wanted to 'be an artist', as I would tell people who asked me 'what do you want to be when you grow up?'. I only decided on what I actually wanted to be a few years ago, when I visited a degree show at Edinburgh College of Art. I saw the animation department and in particular the work of Ainslie Henderson, and I fell in love with the art of animation. His film 'I Am Tom Moody' was on show as his final year degree show, and I wanted to be able to create that level of animation and have that amount of skill.

After seeing this film, I worked hard through high school to get the grades I needed, and then to create the portfolio I would use to get into university. My last year of school was pretty much spent in the art department creating animations and trying to do my best in order to get onto the course I wanted. I knew the odds were tough, and when I finally submitted my application I couldn't help but wonder if there was more I could have done. However, a few months later I got the result through, and I cried. I had made it in. Now, I'm here, in a place I never thought I would make it to 2 years ago.

Thank you, and enjoy my work!
