The Bouncing Ball

The next project we embarked on was the study of the bouncing ball. This is one of the most basic principles of animation and is definitely something to conquer before anything else. You practice squash and stretch, path of action and timing and spacing, which are all important to any animations you are going to try and do. We started off very basic and simple, just doing one ball bouncing but looking at different weights and what effect that has on a ball hitting the ground.

We also did some animation in the computer programme Maya. I found this project really useful and it was a good introduction to the course. I did some sketch book work too, to investigate the techniques and do some initial sketches of my ideas.
