Issues of Representation

Issues of Representation is the written art of our course this semester. For the hand in, we had to write an essay and also make a 2 minute film. I decided to do mine on the representation of women in animation. This topic means a lot to me and I really enjoyed researching it.

My film is below. It shows the results of interviews carried out with a variety of people who were all asked the same question - 'describe to me a woman who has just walked into a shop'.

The results were very interesting and I enjoyed making the film to visually show what each individual said.

If I had more time I would maybe add more voice over to explain the section at the end where the candidates results appear with their different variables.

I also would have liked to work on the essay more (submitted via turnitin and also on dropbox) as I am not as confident in that area. This project has helped me work on my essay writing skills and I was able to think more about my dissertation topic for next year.
