Animated Reality

The animated reality project was begun in week 6 of the semester. We joined with the Film and TV students and were put into groups. Most groups were two people, but mine had 3.

We initially sat down and tried to brainstorm ideas. We had to work with a specific word - triangle. We discussed different things, but decided on the nearby area known as 'The Pubic Triangle' in Edinburgh. This area has three strip bars and we wanted to get 'under the skin' of the area. Our initial plan was to interview one of the dancers and get a story which we could animate certain parts of.

This plan however did not work out, and so we ended up shooting exterior shots of the area, and then animating speech bubbles and thoughts of people walking past.

I also did some sketches of the area outside as research.
